The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, visited the residence of the late Afenifere leader, Ayo Adebanjo, on Sunday.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that other notable figures, including former Ogun State Governor Gbenga Daniel, Labour Party’s Lagos governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and human rights activist Dele Farotimi, also paid their respects at Adebanjo’s home.

In a post on 𝕏, Rhodes-Vivour shared, “Earlier today, we joined the Adebanjo family in thanksgiving and prayers for God’s comfort and strength. Pa Adebanjo lived a full life and was always eager to share his values, vision, and ideology with the next generation.
He was a principled man who stood for equity, justice, and true federalism. We celebrate a life of impact, lived to the fullest.”
The visit follows the passing of the 96-year-old Afenifere leader, who died on Friday at his Lekki residence in Lagos.

Meanwhile, prominent figures, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, have extended their condolences.
Others who have mourned Adebanjo’s passing include former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, the apex Igbo socio-cultural group Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and the Middle Belt Forum.
