The premier club for Lagosians in diaspora, Eko Club International (USA, Canada, and Europe), celebrated her 14th biennial convention and 25th anniversary in grand style. Prominent men and women from all walks of life graced the occasion.

The convention began on Thursday, September 18th, with the arrival of guests and members, featuring the official opening ceremony and a colorful cultural picnic at Rahway Park, New Jersey, from 9 AM to 9 PM.
On Friday, September 19th, the day started with Consular Services at the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton Newark Airport, featuring passport renewal and visa issuance, followed by a special community outreach program—an essential part of the Eko Club International’s tradition aimed at helping the underprivileged.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that the economic session themed “Africa Rising: Diaspora Relations, Global Perception, and the Lagos Advantage” focused on service strategies and policy discussions on matters of mutual benefit to both the United States and Nigeria, especially Lagos State.
Furthermore, the economic session featured esteemed speakers, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dr. Tunji Alausa, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and Dr. Kayode Opeifa, with Otunba T.J. Abass and Hon. Adebimpe Daniells as moderators.
Shortly after, the special Jumah service started and was concluded with the prestigious Presidential Fundraising Awards and the Adah-mu Orisa display, a swell moment of pride for Lagos.
On Saturday, September 20th, participants engaged in a vibrant “Walk for Life,” followed by a general meeting and election proceedings which ended with a memorable Gala Night where the new executive committee was inaugurated.
In conclusion, the convention ended with a closing church service on Sunday, September 21st, with everyone leaving fulfilled and inspired.
