PHOTOS: Tinubu Arrives Lagos Ahead Of Inauguration Of Red Line Rail

Eko Hot Blog reports that President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos State for the commissioning of the Lagos Red Line rail.

The president arrived the state where he was governor between 1999 and 2007 Wednesday evening.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other state officials welcomed Tinubu to the state.

In a social media post, Sanwo-Olu said the rail project “marks a new era for Lagos.”

“I am excited to welcome to Lagos, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for a truly momentous occasion,” the Lagos governor said.

“Tomorrow, we celebrate the commissioning of the LMRT Red Line, an initiative that began with his bold vision for our city’s future.

“I am thankful to be the hands that have manifested this vision to reality. From groundbreaking to completion, the Red Line Rail Project marks a new era for Lagos.

“Tomorrow we celebrate a project that will truly make life easier for our residents.”

Meanwhile, the Red Line Rail is the first phase of the project which will run from Agbado in Ogun state to Oyingbo in the heart of Lagos.

 

The train, when fully operational, will run 37 trips and convey about 500,000 passengers daily, according to the Lagos government.
