Following the devastating attack by armed herders in Yelewata, Guma LGA of Benue State, which claimed over 100 lives, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Makurdi on Wednesday to commiserate with the victims and their families.

During his visit, the President extended his condolences and met with survivors receiving treatment at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.

The President was received by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and Governor Hyacinth Alia, as well as federal lawmakers, governors, ministers, and other government appointees.
The president expressed his commitment to addressing the security challenges faced by the state and directed security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators of the attack.

He further urged Governor Alia to allocate land for ranching, aiming to address conflicts between farmers and herders in the region.

They were accompanied by Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, federal lawmakers from Benue State, North Central zone governors, ministers, and other government appointees.
