EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ahmed, a former member of the APC Board of Trustees, addressed the claims during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. He firmly stated there is no friction between President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, contrary to reports of a growing rift within the presidency.
“It’s not true. I know it very well. Who is ever in a 100 per cent relationship with anyone? There is trust between President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima,” Ahmed said. “We are trying to create an issue where there is none.”
He dismissed the rumours as baseless, saying, “I am absolutely aware there is no discussion about substituting the Vice President. There is no discussion about the Vice President being blocked. These are all malicious rumours from people who likely do not understand how the presidency operates.”
Ahmed urged Nigerians and APC members to redirect their attention to governance and policy implementation, stressing that the administration still has a large part of its mandate to deliver.

“We have a mandate for four years. Two are gone. Let’s focus on governance. The primaries are still a year away and the general election is two years out,” he said. “There are so many things we are doing right — let’s espouse them. The government should focus on communicating those achievements.”
He further advised that political distractions should be avoided to maintain institutional focus and public confidence.
