- Police Arrest Five Over Car Snatching in Lekki

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended five suspects connected to a car-snatching incident, along with the individual who purchased the stolen vehicle, Eko Hot Blog reports.
According to the police, the case began on August 1, 2025, when a taxi driver reported that three passengers he picked up along Platinum Way in Jakande, Lekki, robbed him at gunpoint and fled with his black Toyota Corolla, leaving him stranded.

Following an intensive investigation, detectives arrested five suspects identified as Favour Sunday, 25, Ikot Moses, 28, Dickson Ighobue Harrison, 35, Daniel Jonathan, 26, and Joshua Adedamola, 27.
Further inquiries led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle, which had been sold to 40-year-old Wasiu Arinola for N500,000. Arinola dismantled the car and disposed of the parts before he was eventually tracked down and arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a related development, officers from the Alausa Division arrested a car wash attendant in Sagamu who attempted to abscond with a customer’s vehicle. The attendant was caught in possession of the stolen car.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, assured residents and visitors that the Command remains dedicated to protecting lives and property.
He added that police operatives are working to recover the pistol used during the robbery, trace other vehicles disposed of by the syndicate, and prosecute everyone involved.
The Command also urged members of the public to share useful information that could support ongoing investigations.
