The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old man, Abidemi Emmanuel, for allegedly raping a popular content creator known as Fems Thrift and her friend, Eko Hot Blog reports.
According to the police, the suspect lured the victims with a fake modelling offer at Ajao Estate on February 8.

In a video shared on her TikTok page, Fems alleged that she was contacted on Instagram by a man who claimed he had relocated from the United Kingdom to establish an international fashion brand in Nigeria. She said he offered her N140,000 for a modelling job and sought her influence to promote the brand.
She alleged that upon arriving at the apartment with her friend, the suspect sexually assaulted them.

The arrest followed widespread outrage on social media after the victims’ account went viral, drawing calls for justice.
Confirming the development, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said the suspect is in custody and that the case is being handled by the command’s Gender Unit.
She stated that the investigation is ongoing and is being conducted in line with established procedures for handling sexual and gender-based violence cases, with emphasis on protecting the dignity and welfare of the survivors.
Adebisi added that the suspect would be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
The victim said she decided to speak out after initially remaining silent due to alleged threats and fear of blackmail. Social media users have since expressed support and urged authorities to ensure justice is served.
