In an audio recording shared online, she was heard apologising after being confronted with messages she had previously claimed were sent by her alleged attacker.
“Yes, sir, please help me, I am very sorry,” she said in the recording, admitting that parts of her initial account were untrue.
She also acknowledged creating a threatening TikTok account herself to support her claims, adding that she had not been thinking clearly when she posted the videos.

A police source disclosed that senior officers, including a Divisional Police Officer, were at the hospital where Mirabel was receiving treatment. According to the source, she would be taken into custody upon discharge and formally charged in court as part of efforts to deter false reporting.
Mirabel had earlier alleged on TikTok that a stranger broke into her apartment in the Ogijo area of Ogun State and raped her, a claim that sparked widespread outrage on social media and calls for swift action.
The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, had earlier confirmed that the Commissioner of Police directed the Ibafo Divisional Police Officer to immediately reach out to her after the allegation surfaced. She was taken for medical assessment and later transferred to the Ogijo Police Station for further investigation.
Due to her fragile condition, she was referred for further medical care. The police say they are reviewing the latest developments and will issue an official update in due course.
