She explained that the operation would be carried out through the Ports and Customs Efficiency Committee and would involve several agencies, including the Nigerian Ports Authority, the Nigeria Customs Service, the Nigeria Police Force, the Lagos State Government, terminal operators and other regulatory bodies.
Audu noted that congestion around the ports has continued to affect trade activities by delaying cargo evacuation and increasing transportation and logistics costs for businesses.
According to her, the enforcement exercise is aimed at restoring order along port access roads, improving traffic flow and creating a more efficient environment for importers, exporters and other port users.

She added that the operation was not designed to disrupt legitimate business activities but to ensure smoother and more coordinated movement around the ports.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by PEBEC to improve Nigeria’s business environment, reduce operational bottlenecks and strengthen trade facilitation across the country.
