The Lagos State Government has extended financial support to another 300 residents under its Eko Cares Programme, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive governance, social welfare, and responsive service delivery across the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the cheque presentation took place at the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement (OPL&CE), where beneficiaries were encouraged to see the initiative as part of the state government’s efforts to ease economic hardship among vulnerable residents.

Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Office, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore, congratulated the beneficiaries and described the programme as a clear reflection of the dividends of democracy promised by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat.
Shasore, who conveyed the goodwill of the Special Adviser on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, explained that the financial assistance is designed to provide relief for indigent residents and help them meet pressing needs.
She urged beneficiaries to fully take advantage of the social intervention programmes provided by the state, stressing that such support is their right as residents of Lagos.

According to her, the Eko Cares Programme underscores the administration’s focus on compassionate, people-centred governance that directly addresses the welfare of citizens.
She further advised beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly to improve their living conditions, settle urgent obligations, and support sustainable livelihood activities in line with the purposes stated in their applications.
