The Qur’anic and Quiz Competition held in commemoration of the 2025 Kayokayo Festival at the First Epe Central Mosque, Oke-Balogun, has been described as a significant opportunity to position Epe on the state and national stage for Islamic intellectual excellence.
Ekohotblog reports that Professor Nosirudeen Onibon, former Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), made this known during an exclusive interview at the event.

“Qur’anic and Quiz competitions like this should be focused on more to make Epe stand out in state and national competitions,” he said.
The intellectually engaging competition featured representatives from various quarters including Bado-Isale, Bado-Oke, Oke Oba/Popo Oba, Oke-Balogun, Oke Posun/Lagbade, and Isale-Agoro.

Participants who emerged first, second, and third across both the Qur’anic and Quiz segments were presented with plaques and trophies in recognition of their brilliance.
Alhaja Kehinde Olusola Alade Raji, during the presentation, encouraged parents and Islamic clerics to instill the habit of Qur’an learning and understanding in their children.
“Let them learn not just to recite but to understand the meaning,it will help shape their future,” she stated.
The event also had in attendance Alhaja Raji (wife of Rep. Wale Raji), Alhaja Osiefa, representatives of Oloja Kosoko Morounfolu Lagos, the Grand Chief Imam, and other respected dignitaries.
