They called for Tinubu to lift the state of emergency, reinstate suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the state House of Assembly, and end the tenure of the current sole administrator.
The stakeholders’ petition, which includes signatories like Atedo Peterside and Chief Abiye Sekibo, asserts that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) is not legally constituted and has violated the mandatory 90-day election notice.
They warned that the elections, orchestrated by a “Sole Administrator with no constitutional mandate,” are a “blatant usurpation of state autonomy” and called for intervention from both national and international bodies.
