The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has congratulated Rosaline on her emergence as Mayor of Islington in the United Kingdom, describing her appointment as another major achievement for Nigerians excelling in public service across the globe.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NiDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, in a statement issued in Abuja, said Rosaline’s emergence reflects excellence, commitment, and impactful service to humanity.

Dabiri-Erewa described the new mayor as a proud Nigerian whose achievements continue to inspire Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.
According to NiDCOM, Rosaline’s appointment represents a significant milestone for the Nigerian diaspora community in the United Kingdom and further highlights the growing global impact of Nigerians in leadership and governance.
Rosaline was first elected as councillor for St Peter’s and Canalside Ward in May 2022.
She subsequently served on key committees, including the Homes and Communities Scrutiny Committee and the Licensing Committee, before rising to become Deputy Mayor and now Mayor of Islington.

Before joining politics, Rosaline worked with several voluntary organisations, including the Islington Citizens Advice Bureau, where she continues to serve as an adviser.
She also worked in the marketing department of the London Symphony Orchestra as a customer service and office coordinator and was a member of its community choir for over 20 years.
The newly elected mayor also has a background in broadcasting, having previously worked with Radio Nigeria before relocating to the United Kingdom.
She equally served on the board of trustees of St Luke’s Centre.
Beyond public service and politics, Rosaline is known for her passion for singing, fashion design, clothing production, and gardening.
Dabiri-Erewa said Rosaline’s success story reflects the positive contributions Nigerians continue to make internationally, noting that she has distinguished herself as a worthy ambassador of Nigeria.
She wished the new Mayor of Islington a successful and impactful tenure in office.
NiDCOM also urged Nigerians in the diaspora to continue projecting the country positively and distinguishing themselves in their various professions and endeavours.
