She explained that the conference would adopt a structured, outcome-driven approach aimed at connecting global investors with high-impact sectors critical to Nigeria’s economic growth.
According to her, sectors to be highlighted include fintech, ICT and digital innovation, agriculture and agro-processing, mining, renewable energy, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, real estate, banking, capital markets and asset management.
Dabiri-Erewa noted that Canada was selected as host due to its large and highly skilled Nigerian diaspora population, spread across cities such as Calgary, Toronto, Waterloo and Montreal.
The four-day conference, themed “Invest Nigeria, Thrive Abroad,” is expected to serve as a bridge between diaspora investors and investment-ready opportunities in Nigeria.
“We aim to facilitate direct partnerships, business-to-business engagements and the signing of memoranda of understanding that will translate into jobs, technology transfer and sustainable development,” she said.
She added that the event would also explore educational partnerships, including exchange programmes between Nigerian institutions and universities abroad.
NiDCOM is collaborating with the Nigerian High Commission in Canada, the Canadian High Commission in Nigeria, and the Government of Ontario to ensure a successful outing.

The conference will also feature a week-long celebration of Nigerian culture and innovation, including the Flavours of Nigeria Festival and engagements with the creative industry.
Dabiri-Erewa urged entrepreneurs, state governments, financial institutions and diaspora professionals to take advantage of the platform to attract investment and contribute to national development.
She also disclosed that arrangements were ongoing with Canadian authorities to ease visa processing for participants, while registration details would be announced soon.
In his remarks, Akeem Araoye, a member of the Content Creation Committee in Canada, highlighted the importance of such engagements in strengthening partnerships between Africa and global stakeholders.
The conference is expected to provide a platform for policy discussions, investment promotion and deeper collaboration between Nigeria and the international community.
