Sanwo-Olu Gives Update On Commencement Date For $100m African Film City Project In Epe
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwoolu has expressed the commitment to improving to standards the creative Film making industry.
He mentioned this at the 12th AFRIFF Press Briefing, surrounded by industry veterans, movie producers, and Nollywood stars.
He said the $100 million African Film City in Epe project which will open avenues for collaborations and skilled Employment in the creative industry will commence in the following weeks.
“I’m thrilled to announce that groundbreaking for the $100 million African Film City project in Epe, Lagos State, will begin in the coming weeks,” he wrote on social media.
“The goal is to further empower our creative talents, and we are doubling our financial and training support. This means more opportunities for skill development in modern filmmaking and increased grants for short stories.
“Together, we are committed to showcasing our original local content to the world.
“It was also an honor to have the U.S. Consul General, Mr. Will Stevens join us. We’re seizing this ‘African moment’ to play our role in aiding Nollywood’s growth.
“Let’s collaborate and tell our stories to the world. Together, we’ll put Lagos and Nigeria on the global filmmaking map.”
