He highlighted major investments including the Lekki Free Trade Zone, the Blue and Red rail lines, and extensive road expansion projects as key drivers of economic competitiveness and investor confidence.
The governor noted that Lagos’ partnership with the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has helped bridge the gap between policy development and private-sector expectations.
According to him, Lagos State’s economy has expanded significantly over the last five years, with its GDP rising by nearly 50 per cent and now exceeding the economies of more than 40 African countries.

Sanwo-Olu added that the government is streamlining regulatory processes through digital one-stop platforms for business registration and approvals.
He pledged further investment in roads, rail, logistics, and power infrastructure, while expanding support for MSMEs, which he described as the backbone of Lagos’ economy. He encouraged stakeholders to continue creating value within the state while exploring opportunities across Africa and globally.
Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Folasade Bada Ambrose, said the theme of this year’s fair reflects Lagos State’s position as Nigeria’s commercial hub. She noted that the 2025 edition featured the largest Lagos State Pavilion ever mounted, showcasing more than 100 MSMEs.
LCCI President, Gabriel Idahosa, commended the state government for its sustained support and for delivering a world-class pavilion at the fair. He pledged continued collaboration to expand the event’s reach, saying Lagos is fortunate to have a government that understands the needs of businesses.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) has concluded its free HIV testing and counselling services at the 2025 Trade Fair.
In a statement yesterday, the agency said more than 700 exhibitors and visitors accessed free HIV screening and confidential counselling as part of ongoing efforts to expand HIV services, strengthen public awareness, and improve the state’s HIV response.
LSACA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Folakemi Animashaun, described the turnout as highly encouraging, noting that the Trade Fair remains a strategic platform for community engagement. She emphasised that early detection and timely treatment are essential to achieving epidemic control and reiterated the state’s commitment to expanding HIV testing centres across Lagos.
