The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Olalekan Hafeez Balogun, has expressed deep appreciation to stakeholders who participated in the Y2026 Budget Consultative Forum held on September 9 and 16, 2025.
Eko Hot Blog reports that delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the State Government, Mr. Balogun praised the contributions of participants, noting that their inputs have consistently shaped the State’s developmental agenda, strengthened inclusive governance, and set clear pathways for sustainable economic growth.
“Your active participation in this process has continued to provide valuable insights that shape our developmental agenda, set clear pathways for sustainable economic growth, and strengthen our collective resolve to build a Lagos that works for all,” he said.
He commended the presence of Traditional Rulers, Community and Religious Leaders, the Organised Private Sector, Professionals, Youth Organisations, Trade Groups, NGOs, Civil Society, and Persons Living with Disabilities. 
According to him, their involvement embodies the inclusivity that defines the forum and reinforces the administration’s All-Inclusive Agenda under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Mr. Balogun assured participants that the outcomes of the deliberations will directly influence the State’s budget preparation, ensuring that Lagosians’ needs are not only captured but also implemented through improved infrastructure, quality education, healthcare, housing, youth empowerment, and a safer environment.
He further appealed to residents to continue fulfilling their civic obligations, particularly the prompt payment of taxes, which he described as vital for achieving equitable and sustainable development across all divisions of Lagos State.
On behalf of the Lagos State Government, Mr. Balogun acknowledged the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ope George, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Olayinka Ojo, Special Adviser on Climate Change and Circular Economy, Mrs. Titilayo Oshodi, the Chief Resilience Officer, Dr. Folayinka Dania, as well as Directors and staff of the Ministry for their support in driving the success of the forum.
