EKO HOT BLOG reports that the 54-year-old Englishman replaces Ange Postecoglou, who was dismissed after a disappointing 40-day spell that ended with a 3–0 loss to Chelsea. Dyche’s arrival follows the earlier sacking of Nuno Espírito Santo, who had led Forest to European qualification last season with a seventh-place finish.
Dyche, a former Forest youth player, has signed a contract running until 2027 and will take charge of his first game on Thursday when the club hosts FC Porto in the Europa League. Forest currently sit 18th in the Premier League, with only five points from eight matches.
Forest described Dyche as the ideal man to guide the club through “its next chapter,” citing his experience, leadership, and defensive expertise. “Having managed more than 330 Premier League matches, Dyche has built teams defined by organisation, resilience and strength from set pieces,” the club said in a statement. “These qualities align closely with the current squad’s attributes and the club’s football identity.”
Dyche will be assisted by Ian Woan and Steve Stone, both former Forest players who previously worked with him at Burnley and Everton. The pair are expected to help reconnect the team with supporters and restore belief within the squad.

Forest’s decision to turn to Dyche underscores the club’s determination to stabilise after a chaotic start to the season. His appointment signals a return to structure, grit and discipline as the club aims to climb out of the relegation zone and rediscover consistency.
