Six Federal University Lokoja Students, Driver Killed as Truck Collides with Shuttle Bus

- An articulated truck lost control and crashed into a Federal University Lokoja (FUL) shuttle bus, killing at least six students and the driver.
- Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) officials were on the scene to assist victims trapped under the truck.
- The deceased were taken to the morgue for identification, while injured victims received treatment at Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja and Kogi State Specialist Hospital.
At least six students from the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) and their driver are feared dead following a fatal collision between an articulated vehicle and the university’s shuttle bus on Monday.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the tragic accident occurred around 2:30 PM when the articulated truck, reportedly transporting timber and jerry cans filled with palm oil towards Abuja, lost control and crashed into the FUL shuttle bus.
According to eyewitnesses, the shuttle bus was fully loaded with students and preparing to transport them to school when the heavy vehicle rammed into it, crushing the bus.
Officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) were on the scene to assist victims trapped beneath the truck.

Kogi State FRSC Sector Commandant, Samuel Oyedeji, who led his team at the accident site, stated that while the exact casualty figure could not be immediately confirmed, the deceased had been taken to the morgue for identification.
Meanwhile, the injured victims have been rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja and the Kogi State Specialist Hospital for treatment.
