According to the governor, the projects demonstrate the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling long-standing infrastructure challenges in the South-East.
Soludo expressed appreciation to the President, saying the road projects would contribute to the region’s development and improve connectivity across the South-East, South-South and North-Central zones.

He noted that the latest approvals add to ongoing infrastructure projects in the region, which he described as unprecedented.
The governor revealed that he met with President Tinubu on July 1 to discuss the proposed road projects.
He said the following day, the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, requested details of the roads, which he subsequently forwarded on July 3.
According to Soludo, Umahi informed him on Tuesday that President Tinubu had approved both projects for design and procurement.

He described the roads as strategic infrastructure that would enhance transportation, promote economic activities and strengthen regional integration.
Soludo also said the approvals reflected the benefits of collaboration between different levels of government in delivering development projects.
The governor thanked President Tinubu for approving the projects, expressing optimism that the road construction would have a lasting impact on the South-East and neighbouring regions.
