Sowore Supports Rita Uguamaye Amid Backlash for Criticizing Tinubu Administration

In response to the controversial video of Ushie Rita Uguamaye, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration, human rights activist and Sahara Reporters publisher Omoyele Sowore has publicly thrown his support behind her.
Sowore announced in a video shared on social media that he met with Uguamaye in Lagos and would accompany her, along with a team of attorneys, to the NYSC Local Government Inspector’s (LGI) office.

However, upon arrival at the Eti-Osa LGI offices, Sowore stated that the LGI official failed to appear throughout their stay, leading to speculation about the NYSC’s handling of the situation.
“The journey with youth Corper, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, has commenced in Lagos.
“She is scheduled to appear before the LGI (Local Government Inspector) today and we will escort her to their offices. We are all en route with attorneys,” Sowore captioned the video.
Uguamaye gained widespread attention after posting a video on TikTok in which she expressed her concerns about the country’s deteriorating economic conditions and openly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
