In a bold demonstration of her administration’s commitment to the safety and well-being of residents, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah O. Animashaun, FHTI, on Tuesday convened a comprehensive Security Stakeholders Meeting with key security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, market representatives, youth leaders, and other critical stakeholders across Epe Division.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the strategic meeting brought together representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Marine Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Tactical Squad, Ibile Vigilante Group, and other security formations operating within Epe Division.
Also in attendance were traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, market representatives, youth leaders, and other stakeholders whose contributions remain vital to sustaining peace, stability, and development across the division.
The gathering served as a platform for extensive deliberations on strengthening the security architecture of Epe, enhancing intelligence gathering, deepening collaboration among security agencies, and developing proactive measures to tackle emerging security challenges.
Addressing participants, Hon. Animashaun emphasized that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority of her administration, stressing that sustainable development can only thrive in a peaceful and secure environment.
“Security is the foundation upon which every meaningful development is built. As a government, we remain committed to providing the necessary support for our security agencies while encouraging residents to play their part by remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activities promptly,” she said.
The council chairman highlighted several interventions undertaken by her administration to support security operations within the local government area. According to her, patrol vehicles and motorcycles have been provided to the Tactical Squad and the Ibile Vigilante Group to strengthen surveillance, improve rapid response capabilities, and enhance crime prevention efforts across communities.
She further disclosed that her administration has continued to provide monthly stipends to security agencies operating within Epe Local Government as part of efforts to motivate personnel and improve operational efficiency.
Hon. Animashaun commended the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifices of security operatives working tirelessly to maintain law and order, assuring them of her administration’s continued support.
“We appreciate the commitment and sacrifices of our security personnel. Their dedication to protecting our communities does not go unnoticed, and we will continue to support them in every way possible to ensure they succeed in their duties,” she added.
Stakeholders at the meeting applauded the chairman’s sustained investments in security infrastructure and welfare support, describing her as a proactive and visionary leader whose interventions have significantly strengthened security operations across Epe Local Government.
One of the stakeholders noted that the provision of patrol vehicles, motorcycles, and regular support for security agencies has improved operational effectiveness and contributed to the peaceful atmosphere currently enjoyed in many communities.
“The chairman has demonstrated genuine commitment to the security of our people. Her investments in security logistics and personnel welfare have yielded positive results, and we are already seeing the impact across the local government,” the stakeholder remarked.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolution by all stakeholders to continue working together to sustain peace, combat criminal activities, strengthen intelligence sharing, and ensure that Epe remains one of the safest and most peaceful local government areas in Lagos State.
The stakeholders also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting government initiatives aimed at promoting security, stability, and sustainable development across Epe Division.
