The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed an attack by suspected terrorists on the Tsamiya community within the Bagudo Local Government Area, resulting in the abduction of a resident and the destruction of public and private property.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident, which occurred on Saturday night, saw armed men invade the border community, firing weapons indiscriminately to cause panic among the inhabitants.

Confirming the development in an official statement issued on Sunday, June 21, 2026, the Police Public Relations Officer for the command, Superintendent of Police Bashir Usman, detailed the extent of the destruction left behind by the assailants.
According to the command’s spokesperson, the gunmen set fire to a strategic checkpoint operated by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, a local brothel, and the private residence of an inhabitant identified as Sule Mai Goge.
During the operation, the attackers also forcefully took away a resident, Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare, into an unknown destination.

Following the security breach, the Commissioner of Police for Kebbi State directed the immediate deployment of additional security personnel to the Bagudo axis to restore calm, strengthen existing security architecture, and protect the lives and properties of vulnerable border communities.
The command stated that a combined team of police operatives and sister security agencies have initiated joint tactical maneuvers in the surrounding forests to locate the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the abducted victim.
The state command has urged members of the public, particularly residents of the Bagudo Local Government Area, to remain calm and cooperative while reassuring them that measures are being taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Law enforcement officials further appealed to community leaders and local informants to continuously provide timely and useful intelligence regarding suspicious movements to the nearest security formations to aid ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the state.
