President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 4 ambassador-designates from the list of 68 nominees earlier confirmed by the Senate in December.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the approvals were announced in a statement dated January 22, 2024, and signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Ambassador Ayodele Oke has been appointed as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to France, while Colonel Lateef Are has been posted as ambassador-designate to the United States of America.
Also approved is the posting of Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, a former Nigerian ambassador to South Korea, as the high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

In addition, former Kebbi State Governor, Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, has been named ambassador-designate to Turkey, where President Tinubu is expected to embark on a state visit next week.
The President has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to formally notify the governments of the affected countries of the postings, in line with established diplomatic protocols.
The statement did not indicate when the remaining ambassador-designates would be assigned to their respective countries.
