- Tinubu praised Wike for accelerating infrastructure development in Abuja
- The President inaugurated new road projects in Katampe District
- Wike said the projects are boosting connectivity and economic growth
President Bola Tinubu has applauded the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his role in accelerating infrastructure development across Abuja.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the commendation came on Friday during the inauguration of the Collector Road CN2, also known as Emmanuel Okanla Boulevard, and other completed road projects in Katampe District.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President said Wike had justified the confidence reposed in him since assuming office as FCT minister.

According to Tinubu, the minister has transformed abandoned projects into major infrastructure while delivering key developments, including roads, water facilities and judicial quarters.
He noted that Wike’s commitment to execution had earned him the reputation of “Mr Project” among residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
Tinubu described the newly commissioned road as another milestone under the Renewed Hope Agenda, saying it reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians through visible infrastructure.
He also praised the installation of solar-powered street lights across major roads in Abuja, noting that the initiative has strengthened security and boosted economic and social activities at night.

The President said improved infrastructure was restoring confidence in the nation’s capital while helping to eliminate criminal hideouts.
Speaking at the event, Wike explained that the Katampe road project was initiated after authorities identified a missing road link following the completion of the Gishiri Road and bridge connecting Maitama.
He said the new road has already attracted increased private investment and accelerated real estate development within the district.
The minister maintained that infrastructure development remains essential for economic growth, job creation and improved living standards.
He added that the FCT Administration is extending development projects to rural and satellite communities, citing the recently completed Tungan-Madaki road as an example.
Wike also announced that another major project, the Karu water supply scheme, would be inaugurated on Monday to improve access to potable water in satellite towns.

Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, said the projects align with the Federal Government’s vision of promoting economic growth, social inclusion and better living conditions through infrastructure.
Earlier, Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Richard Dauda, disclosed that the 3.9-kilometre road project includes underground drainage systems, water and sewer pipelines, telecommunications ducts, solar-powered street lights, pedestrian walkways and landscaped green areas.
He said the new road would improve connectivity between Katampe, Mabushi, Jahi, Maitama and surrounding districts while opening up more land for residential and commercial development.
