President Bola Tinubu has identified the Ansaru terrorist group as the group behind the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the President made the disclosure on Friday in a personally signed statement following the successful rescue of the victims by security operatives.

Describing the outcome as a moment of gratitude for the nation, Tinubu commended the security agencies for their professionalism, bravery and commitment, which ensured the victims were freed safely without paying any ransom or making concessions to the kidnappers.
He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to tackle terrorism, stressing that criminal groups would continue to face relentless pressure from security forces.

According to the President, the rescue operation demonstrates the government’s determination to protect citizens and preserve peace across the country.
“Tonight, our nation has reason to give thanks. The children and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oyo State have been rescued by our security forces, alive and unharmed. No ransom was paid. No concession was made,” he said.
Tinubu praised the officers involved in the operation, saying their courage, discipline and professionalism made the successful rescue possible.
He also issued a warning to terrorist groups, declaring that the Nigerian government would continue to pursue those responsible for acts of violence until lasting peace and security are achieved nationwide.
