The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to abandon his ambition of contesting the 2027 presidential election, Eko Hot Blog reports.
According to the party, Nigerians cannot entrust their future to a politician who, it claimed, failed to earn the trust of voters in his own polling unit during the recent governorship election in Anambra State.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the APC’s Lagos spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said Obi’s political relevance has continued to wane since his loss in the 2023 presidential election, noting that his defeat at the grassroots exposes the “myth of his national popularity.”
Oladejo stated, “A man who cannot win his polling unit has no business dreaming of winning a country. A man who is rejected on his street cannot claim nationwide acceptance. A man whose strongest base has crumbled cannot sell the lie of a national movement.”

He added that the development marked “the complete disintegration of the myth around Peter Obi,” alleging that the Labour Party chieftain has resorted to “seeking sympathy abroad” following what he described as a “political free fall.”
Oladejo further contrasted Obi’s political activities with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s governance record, saying, “While President Tinubu is rebuilding institutions, fixing the economy, expanding infrastructure, attracting foreign investments, and restoring global confidence, Peter Obi is busy granting contradictory interviews, seeking international validation, and hiding behind hashtags that collapse at the ballot box.”
He concluded that Nigerians would not “hand over their destiny” to a man who lacks the confidence of his own community, adding that the APC’s victory in Obi’s polling unit symbolizes “performance triumphing over propaganda.”
