Following the announcement, the Senate referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for further review and legislative processing, with instructions to report back promptly.

Dr. Doro’s nomination comes in the wake of Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda’s departure from the role, after his appointment as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga had earlier confirmed Doro’s nomination in a public statement, describing it as part of President Tinubu’s broader effort to fill vacant ministerial positions within his cabinet.

Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Doro has more than 20 years of professional experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical services, and strategic leadership in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, along with an MBA specializing in IT-driven business strategy and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
He is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with hands-on experience in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), including urgent care, general practice, and hospital services.
