According to the NRC, the Lagos–Ibadan route will operate six train trips on the day instead of the usual four trips.
The Corporation said departures from Lagos will be at 7:45 a.m., 1:40 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., while departures from Ibadan will be at 8:00 a.m., 10:50 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.
The NRC explained that the arrangement is temporary and strictly for the Sallah period, adding that normal schedules will resume after the celebration.
The statement noted that the recently introduced Thursday six-trip operations will also be temporarily reduced to four trips on May 28, 2026, before returning to normal thereafter.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Government will operate its annual free Sallah train service on the narrow gauge corridor for indigenes travelling home for the celebration.
The special train will depart from Iddo Station in Lagos on May 26, 2026, with a return trip from Osogbo scheduled for May 28, 2026.
The service, sponsored by the state government through a paid arrangement with the NRC, is aimed at easing travel costs for residents during the festive season.
The NRC reaffirmed its commitment to providing safe, efficient and reliable rail transportation services nationwide, while wishing Nigerians a peaceful Sallah celebration.
