The military command confirmed that the mass surrender followed a series of coordinated, multi-axis assaults that left the remaining insurgent enclaves entirely isolated and compromised.
The successful operational update was formally disclosed on Sunday night through an official defense bulletin issued by the Acting Military Information Officer for the theatre headquarters, Captain Muhammad Goni.
According to the statement, the high-ranking insurgent figures chose to abandon their remote operational hideouts after realizing that the relentless kinetic and non-kinetic pressure from military forces had effectively destroyed their strategic edge.
Captain Goni indicated that the security agencies are maintaining a high level of vigilance while managing the processed individuals.
The military command added that within the last week alone, a total of 76 terrorist foot soldiers accompanied by their dependents crossed over from the fringes of the Sambisa Forest and Lake Chad basin to hand themselves over to nearby defensive positions.
This steady wave of desertions highlights the compounding logistical bottlenecks and internal fractures currently ripping through the terrorist network’s command structure.

Captain Goni explained that the tactical squeeze has severely degraded the group’s combat capabilities, systematically denying them the freedom of movement required to launch surprise incursions against civilian communities.
The surrendered individuals have been transferred to a highly secure military facility within the theatre of operations.
They are undergoing standard profiling, exhaustive intelligence debriefings, and other specialized documentation steps established under international humanitarian laws and local counter-insurgency frameworks.
Joint Task Force officials reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to sustaining the current operational momentum, warning the remaining insurgent factions that field troops will maintain maximum pressure across the region until all hostile elements are completely neutralized or forced to capitulate.
