UEFA said the punishment was issued due to racist and discriminatory conduct by supporters. Tottenham were fined €30,000 (£26,000), while an additional €2,250 (£1,966) penalty was imposed for objects thrown from the stands.

European football’s governing body also handed the club a one-match ban on selling away tickets in UEFA competitions. However, the sanction has been suspended for a probationary period of one year.
Tottenham condemned the behaviour, describing the actions of those involved as unacceptable. The club confirmed that the three individuals responsible have been identified and issued indefinite bans in line with its disciplinary policies.
Spurs reiterated their opposition to all forms of discrimination, stressing that the conduct of a few does not represent the wider fanbase.

The development comes amid wider concerns about fan behaviour in European competitions. In Spain, Real Madrid recently launched an inquiry after a supporter was alleged to have made a similar gesture before a Champions League match against Benfica.
Elsewhere, two men have been charged following disturbances during Nottingham Forest’s Europa League clash with Fenerbahçe at the City Ground.
Police made three arrests after reports of disorder, including flares being thrown from the away section, which led to a temporary halt in play. Ender Celik, 37, from Hackney, has been charged with throwing a missile toward an area near the pitch, while Dale Morgan, 38, of Nottingham, faces a charge of entering the playing area during a match.

Both men have been released on conditional bail and are due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 17 March in separate hearings.
Authorities confirmed that no further action would be taken against another individual arrested on suspicion of assaulting a steward.
Damage to seating in the away section was discovered after the fixture. Forest were beaten 2-1 on the night but advanced 4-2 on aggregate.
