EKO HOT BLOG reports that the delegation, which included Rep. Mario Díaz Balart, Rep. Norma Torres, Rep. Scott Franklin, Rep. Juan Ciscomani, and Rep. Riley Moore, was accompanied by the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, during a visit to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
Speaking about the visit, Moore said on social media that the meeting with Ribadu was productive and focused on strengthening security cooperation between both countries. He wrote, “I want to thank National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu for a productive and positive conversation with the US Congressional delegation to Nigeria.”
He said the discussions covered specific steps aimed at improving security across Nigeria, dismantling terror networks in the northeast, and addressing persistent attacks in the Middle Belt. He noted that protecting Christian communities remained a key concern for him and for the U.S. President.
Moore also commended the Nigerian government for rescuing 100 kidnapped Catholic school children, describing it as a positive sign of improved response to insecurity. “This is a positive demonstration of the government’s increasing response to the security situation and shows commitment to the emergency declaration laid out by President Tinubu,” he said.
He added that the U.S. delegation’s concerns were received with urgency, expressing optimism that both nations were moving toward a stronger cooperative security framework. He pointed to the newly established joint task force between Nigeria and the U.S. as an example of progress.
Moore said there was a clear willingness from the Nigerian government to work with the United States on major security challenges, but stressed that this must translate into sustained action. While acknowledging that more work remains, he noted that developments appear to be moving in the right direction and expressed readiness for continued engagement.

He concluded his message with a goodwill note: “Peace be with you all. God bless the great people of Nigeria.”
