EKO HOT BLOG reports that sources close to the political movement revealed that Atiku is now a major figure in the coalition that recently adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. Although he has not officially announced his defection from the PDP, indications suggest that his political alignment has shifted.
Just days ago, the new coalition unveiled its interim leadership, appointing former Senate President David Mark as the Interim National Chairman and ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola as the Interim National Secretary.
In a video posted on his official 𝕏 handle, Atiku addressed a gathering in Hausa, where he vowed to declare a war on corruption if elected president in 2027.
“I swear to God, if elected, anyone who steals or engages in corruption, we will wage war against them, and they must be punished,” Atiku declared.
Meanwhile, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed the strength of the newly formed coalition, insisting that they cannot solve the country’s problems.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, Wike accused the coalition’s leaders of pursuing personal interests rather than genuine national solutions. He defended the policies of the Tinubu-led administration and maintained that the opposition’s unity posed no serious threat.
Naija News reports that the coalition includes key opposition figures such as Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), former Senate President David Mark, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and others. Their goal is to mount a formidable challenge to President Bola Tinubu’s government in the 2027 polls.

Despite growing support for the coalition, Wike remains confident that the ruling APC will withstand any political wave, which observers have described as a potential tsunami.
