EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to a statement from the presidency, the President will first visit the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. He is expected to stop at the residence of Aisha Buhari, widow of the late leader, to pay his respects before proceeding to the social engagement.
The social event will be the wedding ceremony of Nasirudeen Yari, son of Zamfara West senator and former governor Abdul’aziz Yari, and Safiyya Shehu Idris. Top politicians, government officials, and dignitaries from across the country are expected to grace the occasion.
President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Abuja immediately after the wedding.
Meanwhile, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized Tinubu’s handling of the Rivers State political crisis. In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party condemned what it described as the “cavalier manner” in which Governor Siminalayi Fubara was suspended from office and later reinstated.
The ADC argued that the action was both unconstitutional and self-serving, accusing the President of disguising political brinkmanship as statesmanship. The party added that Tinubu’s intervention in Rivers State would have far-reaching implications for his political legacy.
