SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Command’s spokesperson, said the suspects, aged between 28 and 43, were apprehended during a coordinated operation that quickly brought the violence under control and restored order to the area.

“Police responded to a distress call at around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday reporting clashes between rival cult groups in Onireke and Isashi,” Adebisi stated. She added that tactical teams and detectives rescued three injured victims, who were rushed to Badagry General Hospital for emergency treatment, where unfortunately one was pronounced dead.
The five suspects are currently in custody and will be charged following the conclusion of investigations. Police are also pursuing fleeing cult members, while patrols and surveillance have been intensified in the affected communities to prevent reprisals.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the officers for their swift and professional response. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to tackling cultism and violent crimes across Lagos State, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
