Former Scotland midfielder Don Hutchison has called on Liverpool manager Arne Slot to drop summer signing Jeremie Frimpong, stating that the Dutchman’s performances have fallen well below the club’s expectations.
Hutchison believes that Conor Bradley deserves the chance to start at right-back as Frimpong’s form and confidence have noticeably declined since joining Anfield.

Frimpong’s Liverpool debut has been rocky, the full-back was bought for €35 million from Bayer Leverkusen, and expected to ignite the pitch with pace and flair, replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold effortlessly.
However, the Dutch full-back has struggled with form, clocking 79 minutes across three Premier League games without making a mark, fueling doubts about his place in the starting eleven.
Hutchison has openly criticized Frimpong, recommending he be benched until he regains form and confidence.
He believes Conor Bradley, who impressed during last season’s injury crises, is better suited to Liverpool’s defensive needs.

Meanwhile, adjusting to English football has made things harder for Frimpong as Liverpool’s system demands greater defensive discipline and positioning compared to Leverkusen’s, which reveals flaws in his tracking and decision-making under pressure.
Conor Bradley, In contrast, has shown a solid blend of defensive strength and attacking smarts, strengthening his case for a starting spot over Frimpong.
