EKO HOT BLOG reports that the confirmation came after an intensive two-hour closed-door screening session at the National Assembly on Wednesday, where the nominees were grilled by lawmakers representing all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The senators questioned the military leaders on their plans to address insurgency, banditry, and other pressing security challenges facing the country.
Presiding over the plenary, Akpabio put the nominations to a voice vote, which received unanimous approval from members of the Senate.
Those confirmed include General Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Waheedi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Major General Emmanuel Undiendeye as Chief of Defence Intelligence.
Akpabio, while announcing their confirmation, expressed optimism that the new military leadership will strengthen national security and restore public confidence in the Armed Forces.

He said, “They have answered all questions during the screening process. Let me also thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the selection of these nominees, who have now been confirmed by this chamber. We believe that their appointments will renew the hope of Nigerians and help restore security across the nation.”
