Afenifere National Leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, has appealed to South-West governors to prioritise the development of the region over partisan interests.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Fasoranti made the call during the South-West leaders’ dialogue with Federal Government officials held in Akure, Ondo State capital, themed “Strengthening Democracy through Dialogue: Assessing Progress, Charting the Future.”

Represented by Senator Femi Okunronmu, Fasoranti expressed concern over political divisions hindering Yoruba unity and regional advancement. He warned that party rivalries had led to the abandonment of crucial projects that could have benefited the people.

He maintained that the welfare of the Yoruba people should not depend on political affiliations, urging all leaders to prioritize education, healthcare, employment, and basic amenities.
Fasoranti also called on ministers and governors from the region to cooperate regardless of their party background, stressing that unity was key to growth.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, commended the dialogue, describing it as timely and necessary for charting sustainable development paths for the region.
