A married woman, Maijidda Alasan, was reportedly hit by a stray bullet allegedly fired by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) during a raid at Kofar Dan Agundi in the Kano Municipal Local Government Area on Friday, October 22, 2025.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Maijidda recounted how the incident occurred while she was resting in her room.

“I was lying down in my room when I suddenly heard something penetrate the roof and hit me. It sharply pierced my thigh. At first, I thought it was a scorpion, but when the pain became unbearable, I jumped up and saw blood gushing out. That was when I screamed for help,” she said.
According to DailyPost, when visited, Maijidda was lying on a mat with her thigh bandaged. She revealed that the bullet was recovered and handed over to the Kwalli Police Station for investigation.
“We reported the matter to the police and showed them the bullet. They confirmed it didn’t belong to them. The DPO collected it and said they would investigate. Later, some residents told us that NDLEA officers from the municipal area had conducted a raid that day and fired shots. That’s why we suspect the bullet came from them,” she added.
Her husband, Garba Muhammad, said the family had spent heavily on hospital bills without any support from the authorities.

“I met the officer in charge of the NDLEA in the municipal area. He promised to investigate, but up till now, we have not heard anything. We won’t let the matter die like that,” he said.
Garba appealed to the NDLEA State Commander in Kano to personally intervene and ensure justice for his wife.
Efforts to reach the NDLEA’s spokesperson in Kano, Sadiq Maigatari, were unsuccessful as he was said to be attending a training programme in China. Messages sent to his WhatsApp line were not returned as of press time.
The family confirmed that the bullet, along with photographs taken at the scene, had been handed over to the police as evidence for further investigation.
