EKO HOT BLOG reports that the endorsement was announced on Saturday during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting convened by the factional leader and House of Representatives member, Leke Joseph Abejide.
At the gathering, held to strengthen internal party structures, Abejide urged ADC members to once again stand with Tinubu, recalling the faction’s support for him during the 2023 general elections. The motion to adopt Tinubu as the preferred candidate received overwhelming approval from representatives across all nine federal constituencies in Kogi State.
The meeting also ratified newly nominated state executives to fill vacant positions created by resignations, deaths, and what the faction described as neglect of duty by former officials. The move is part of an ongoing effort by Abejide’s bloc to consolidate control of the ADC in Kogi amid a prolonged leadership tussle.
However, the decision has deepened divisions within the party. A rival faction loyal to former Senate President David Mark, Senator Dino Melaye and Senator Tunde Ogbeha insists that Kingsley Ogah remains the legitimate state chairman. Stakeholders at Saturday’s meeting rejected Ogah’s claim, reaffirming his expulsion and accusing him of working against party interests.
Speakers representing constituencies across the state maintained that Ogah no longer holds any valid position within the party. A letter from ADC stakeholders in Yagba West detailing allegations against Ogah was publicly read and adopted as part of the ratification process.
Newly ratified executives emerged with Hon. Sunday Maiyaki elected as State Chairman and Hon. Mamman Akpena as State Secretary. In his acceptance speech, Maiyaki praised Abejide’s leadership and pledged to rebuild the party from the grassroots while supporting Tinubu’s 2027 bid.
Abejide used the occasion to accuse former National Chairman Ralph Nwosu of creating the crisis by “handing over the party to outsiders”. He dismissed reports of his own expulsion, describing them as baseless. He also revealed that several court cases challenging the party’s national leadership are ongoing.

The lawmaker urged members to prepare for the state’s local government elections scheduled for next October and promised to expand his interest-free loan scheme to communities across Kogi. The meeting ended with a collective pledge by stakeholders to deliver victory for Tinubu and Abejide in 2027.
