Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was hospitalized early Thursday after being stabbed by an intruder who broke into his Mumbai residence.
The 54-year-old actor sustained six injuries, including two deep wounds, one perilously close to his spine. He was rushed to a nearby hospital around 3:30 a.m. local time (22:00 GMT Wednesday), according to the hospital’s chief operating officer, ANI news agency reported.

Khan’s representatives confirmed the incident, describing it as an “attempted burglary” and assuring that his family, including wife Kareena Kapoor-Khan and their two children, are safe.
Doctors provided an update later on Thursday, stating that Khan was “on the path to complete recovery.”
Dr. Nitin Dange, part of the surgical team, revealed that Khan suffered a major thoracic spinal cord injury from a knife lodged in his spine.
The procedure involved removing the knife and repairing spinal fluid leakage.
A female staff member at the home was also attacked and is receiving treatment, according to police.
Authorities are actively searching for the suspect and have launched an investigation into the incident, NDTV reported.
Khan, one of Bollywood’s most renowned actors, has appeared in over 70 films and television series, also producing several projects. He is the son of legendary cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and iconic actress Sharmila Tagore.
