The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo (JP), Telade IV, has called an emergency security stakeholders’ meeting scheduled for June 4, 2026, as concerns mount over security challenges affecting communities within Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Epe Lagos State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the monarch, in an official communication issued on June 3, said the meeting became necessary in light of evolving security concerns and the need for stakeholders to work together to maintain peace, stability and safety across the council area.

According to Oba Ogunsanwo, security remains a collective responsibility that requires the active participation of traditional institutions, government authorities, security agencies and members of the public.
The emergency meeting is scheduled to hold at 12 noon on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Alara of Ilara Palace in Ilara-Epe.
The royal father noted that the gathering would provide an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in frank discussions on current security realities, identify potential threats and explore practical solutions capable of strengthening security architecture within Eredo LCDA.
He stressed that proactive measures are necessary to prevent criminal activities and ensure that residents continue to live and conduct their businesses in a safe environment.

Invitations have been extended to a wide range of stakeholders, including the Chairman of Eredo LCDA, traditional rulers from neighbouring communities, representatives of security agencies, political leaders, youth groups, market associations, transport unions and educational institutions.
Expected participants also include representatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Nigerian Navy, hunters’ associations and members of the Association of Baales.
The meeting comes amid increasing nationwide conversations about community security and the need for stronger grassroots collaboration in intelligence gathering, crime prevention and rapid response mechanisms.
Residents and community leaders are expected to use the forum to share concerns, propose solutions and contribute to efforts aimed at safeguarding lives and property throughout Eredo LCDA.
Observers say the initiative reflects the growing role of traditional institutions in complementing government efforts to address security challenges and foster peaceful coexistence within local communities.
