A 52-year-old man named Morufudeen Idowu has been sentenced to three months imprisonment after assaulting an official of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps at Ojota on Friday.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the incident unfolded when Idowu was cautioned for violating the state’s pedestrian safety regulations by crossing the Ojota Expressway.

As disclosed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on his verified X handle, Idowu refused lawful arrest and proceeded to assault the official who was performing his duties.

He said, “Following the arrest of Mr Morufudeen Idowu, who assaulted one of our personnel and refused arrest while crossing the expressway at Ojota, he was arraigned before the Magistrate Court sitting at Oshodi and sentenced to three months imprisonment.”
