The Lagos State Police Command has rescued a 20-year-old kidnapping victim identified as Kehinde.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the victim was lured via WhatsApp and abducted by his captors in the Ikoga area of Morogbo, located in Badagry, Lagos State.

According to a statement from the Force Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police Moyiwa Adejobi, officers from the Lagos State Command acted on credible intelligence and responded to the reported abduction in Ikoga, Morogbo.
Adejobi stated that the kidnappers had contacted the victim’s family to demand a ransom of N500,000. Prompt action by the police led to the arrest of three suspects, including Celestine.
“This is sheer criminality, and we condemn it totally.” Okeke (28), Michael Okonkwo (25), and Kehinde Oladun (30) and the victim was rescue unhurt and he had since been reunited with his family.
In a separate incident, officers from the Katsina State Police Command responded to a reported attack and attempted kidnapping in Mazare village. The operatives quickly mobilized to the scene and engaged the suspects in a gun battle.
The kidnappers were overwhelmed by the police’s superior firepower and fled with various gunshot wounds, resulting in the successful rescue of four victims, all unharmed.

In another operation on June 23, 2025, police officers from the Kogi State Command, while on patrol along the Obajana–Oshokoshoko road, thwarted a kidnap attempt targeting three commercial vehicles.
The officers exchanged gunfire with the assailants and successfully rescued all 24 passengers without injury.
Likewise, on June 22, 2025, personnel from the Okene Division of the Kogi State Command intercepted a suspicious Nissan vehicle en route to Auchi. The driver fled into the nearby forest, abandoning the vehicle and a bag.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, 28 rounds of 5.6mm ammunition, a G3 magazine, a black shirt, phone accessories, and other personal belongings. Efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspect.
