The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has hailed the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, for his proactive leadership and dedication to improving public school infrastructure and educational development across the local government.
Ekohotblog reports that the commendation came during the commissioning of a newly completed block of four classrooms and two modern toilet facilities at African Bethel Primary School, a landmark project described by the council chairman as his “legacy project.”

Speaking at the event, LASUBEB Chairman, Dr. Abdul Hakeem Shittu, praised the quality, timeliness, and integrity behind the initiative.
“Hon. Wasiu Adesina has done very well in ensuring that children in Ikorodu have a conducive environment for learning,” said Dr. Shittu.
“What makes this project even more remarkable is that it speaks volumes about integrity. The chairman did not only make a promise after his need assessment, he fulfilled it, and that is commendable.”
He further highlighted that the project aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus agenda, specifically the education and technology pillar, which aims to enhance access to quality education, improve learning outcomes, and provide modern facilities for pupils across the state.
In his response, Hon. Wasiu Adesina expressed appreciation to LASUBEB for their partnership and recognition, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education.

“Education remains one of the strongest pillars for sustainable development, and we are determined to give our children the environment and tools they need to succeed,” he said.
The chairman noted that the development at African Bethel Primary School is just one among several interventions under his leadership.

He mentioned other beneficiary schools, including Salvation Army Primary School and others spread across Ikorodu’s various wards, which have received infrastructural and educational support.
According to him, the new classroom block and sanitary facilities will help decongest existing structures, enhance hygiene, and improve teaching and learning conditions for both students and educators.
