The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, formally presented Certificates of Return to elected Chairmen and Councillors across the state, officially concluding the 2025 Local Government election process.
Ekohotblog reports that at the event held at the LASIEC headquarters, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, re-elected Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), received his Certificate of Return alongside Vice-Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Oluwole Dehinsilu. Also presented with certificates were Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun of Epe Local Government and Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye of Eredo LCDA.

Originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, the ceremony was postponed due to the Federal Government’s public holiday declaration and was rescheduled for the next day.
Speaking during the presentation, LASIEC Chairman, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (Rtd.), reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to free and fair electoral processes.
“We remain steadfast in our mission to strengthen democracy at the grassroots through free, fair, and credible elections,” she said. “Today’s ceremony represents the triumph of democracy and the will of the people.”
Anomo expressed gratitude for the renewed mandate and promised to sustain developmental strides across Ikosi-Ejinrin.
“I am deeply honored by this renewed mandate,” he said. “This certificate is a call to serve with greater purpose and commitment to our people.”
Hon. Animashaun also pledged to continue delivering inclusive governance and community-centered leadership.
“This is a responsibility we do not take lightly,” she noted. “We will keep building on our achievements for the growth and progress of Epe.”
The six councillors-elect of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA were also presented with Certificates of Return:

Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi (Ward E2)

Hon. Ajayi Samuel Olumide (Ward R1)
Speaking on behalf of the councillors, Hon. Adesanya Shakirat Adeyinka assured residents of quality legislative engagement.
