Eko Hot Blog reports that the current phase of the project involves the laying of crushed stones on road sections that have already been scarified and properly graded.
Key routes benefiting from the intervention include Lekuru Link to Idasho and the Igbosewe to Idasho Primary Health Care (PHC) Road, both of which serve as vital access roads for residents and service providers.
Speaking on the development, Engr. Kasali said the project is targeted at addressing long-standing mobility and environmental challenges in the area.
“Our administration remains committed to improving road access across Lekki LCDA. The stabilisation works in Idasho are designed to ease movement, support economic activities, and ensure that residents can access essential services without difficulty,” he said.
He noted that improved road conditions would also enhance emergency response, particularly along routes leading to health facilities. “Roads leading to critical facilities such as PHCs must be safe and motorable at all times.
This intervention will significantly reduce response time during emergencies,” the chairman added.
Residents of Idasho community welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful.
A community leader expressed appreciation, saying, “This road has been a major challenge for years, especially during the rainy season.
The stabilisation work will help reduce erosion and make movement easier for our people.”
The road stabilisation works are part of a broader infrastructure upgrade programme being implemented by the Lekki LCDA administration, aimed at reducing erosion, improving accessibility, and enhancing the overall quality of life in communities across the council area.
