Zakari also pressed the commission to maintain proper administrative and financial records, setting a solid example for local government administrators. He explained that strict control over these records prevents corruption and inefficiency at the grassroots level.
The Assembly’s crucial call for accountability comes as the state continues to grapple with administrative lapses, highlighted by the recent discovery and removal of about 7,000 ghost workers from Jigawa’s payroll in June.

The commission’s Permanent Secretary, Lawal Muhammad, acknowledged the ongoing challenges related to staff matters and administration. He agreed that these issues require a collaborative effort from all stakeholders.
Welcoming the Assembly’s visit, Ali Jahun, Permanent Commissioner II, who represented the commission’s chairman, Uba Ringim, affirmed the commission’s commitment to implementing their recommendations.
He assured lawmakers that they would use the advice to enhance service delivery within the local government framework.
