Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has received a courtesy visit from the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Idris Bugaje.
Welcoming the delegation, the Minister praised the NBTE for its consistent efforts in strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the country.

According to Idris, the establishment of the CMSSC is significant because it brings together critical stakeholders from both the private and public sectors to tackle skills shortages in one of the nation’s fastest-growing industries.
He assured the Council of the Ministry’s full cooperation, stressing that investing in professional training for media practitioners would elevate the quality of broadcast content, enhance media literacy, and help curb the spread of misinformation.
The Minister further explained that such initiatives directly support the objectives of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted that the Ministry’s five-pillar agenda is also closely aligned, particularly Pillar 4, which focuses on developing technology and talent, and Pillar 5, which aims to provide a more enabling environment for media practice.
Idris emphasized that the ultimate goal is to build a workforce in Nigeria’s creative and broadcast sector that is globally competitive, nationally certified, and positioned to drive employment, stimulate economic growth, and promote unity across the country.

He concluded by reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to working with the NBTE and the CMSSC to ensure that Nigerian media professionals continue to set high standards both locally and internationally.
