The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to building a smart and agile workforce following the successful completion of more than 20 training programmes in the second and third quarters of 2025, benefiting over 3,000 officers across the state’s public service.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the capacity-building sessions, organised by the Ministry of Establishments and Training, covered staff across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and focused on enhancing both technical competencies and soft skills required for effective service delivery.

According to the ministry, the training programmes addressed diverse areas, including transformational leadership, financial management and planning, talent development, creativity and innovation in the workplace, procurement efficiency, leadership in social work supervision, marketing, data-driven decision-making, and risk-based internal audit technologies.
Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Afolabi Ayantayo, described the initiative as evidence of the administration’s commitment to strengthening human capital.

He noted that empowering officers with technical knowledge and managerial skills is essential for delivering exceptional service to residents.
“The scope and reach of the training programmes demonstrate our resolve to build a strong, well-equipped workforce, which remains the bedrock of sustainable development,” Ayantayo said.
Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Olubusola Abidakun, also expressed satisfaction with the impact of the trainings, noting that the deliberate blend of specialised courses and soft skills has enabled officers to perform optimally in their respective roles.
